Wei@ht Tracker Wednesday!

It's been a great week! I have done really well with my eating choices and exercise.  And I am do#wn TWO pounds! The elliptical is my new friend.  We are still getting used to each other.
The pros of elliptical:
- I am not worried about the weather (if you don't count -20 wind chills walking into the gym that I hate).
- My friend Kim is usually right beside me on the treadmill.
- My playlists keeps me going hard! I {HEART} my playlists!
- I can close my eyes on the elliptical and get lost in the music!
- There are TVs on each machine that can run Closed Captioning so as I listen to music I can read the news or tv! This totally keeps me from getting bored and wanting to quit!
- You can burn calories as easily as running.  Which I love and have missed.
- My hamstring likes it.

Cons-
- I miss the fresh air and smell of Nestles'.
- I sweat like a pig as there is no breeze indoors! There are even beads of sweat on the backs of my hands! I walk away soaked. Not pretty. (But  I like this quote from my sister in law's pinterest - "If you look pretty afterward, you didn't do it right!")
- It doesn't have the same rhythmic sound of running that is oddly therapeutic.
- My neck gets tense and tight.
- I am often surrounded by young college kids in amazingly great shape, this makes me a little self-conscious.Until I remind myself that I am almost 41.

BUT I will focus on the list of PROS!

Here is the recipe for this week!

Chicken Wild Rice Soup

5 2/3 C water
1 pkg.  (4.3) Rice-a-Roni long grain & wild rice mix
1 envelope chicken noodle soup mix
10-15 baby carrots –chopped or shredded
1/3 C Onion – chopped
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 C sour cream
1 cup cubed cooked chicken
1 can corn kernels  (drained)

In large pan/stock pot combine water, rice, seasoning  pack, & soup mix.
Boil.
Reduce heat.
Simmer (covered) 10 minutes.
Stir in veggies & simmer 10 more minutes.
Stir in chicken, soup, sour cream & cook 8 minutes or until all is tender.

Top with sour cream, shredded cheese, fresh ground pepper, etc.

(I have used this for pheasant too, it just needs to cook a long time, slowly to get rid of that “gamey” taste.)

woohooo way to go girl! I've started on my weight loss journey again and on Monday will be checking in.

If only losing it was as easy as putting it on............

I just started C25K but on my elliptical. Not the same as running but my knees can't handle real running anyway. That and the weather is much too unpredictable. I haven't weighed this week but since I splurged yesterday on Chicago stuffed pizza, I think I will wait until next week. :)
