Post #600!!! The man I married.....

If you don't believe in a Sovereign God....
skip this post.
If you don't believe that God has a sense of humor,
don't read it.
Cause the man I married... loves the river.....And I love the river, any river, even a smelly muddy river...
especially in the warm sunshine on an 80 degree day.
We were meant by God to be together forever.....
here's why....
We both love the river! Sure!
Love it.
L o v e i t .
So today we went down here:

This is in the middle of town.
Russ carried Cash down the large loose rocks.
I have terrible balance since my back surgery.
I was a little slow in getting there!
But this farm girl was meant to be the mother of boys!
As soon as I was down there
I was in heaven!
Water....
Cash....
rocks....
warm sun...
.... the man I married
... he and I are sort of perfect for each other....
you'll see why...
we walked through more rocks and water to get under the bridge in the middle of town.... near the dam.... where the fish are happy and love to suck up worms with hooks in them.

... the man I married told me, before we left, to wear shoes that could get wet. He failed to tell me I needed more than these... but they worked.

... the man I married also has a boy who also loves all things that crawl in the river!
tiny ones:

and big ones:

and he even pretends to kiss them...
just like the man I married does with fish.
BUT
TODAY THE MAN I MARRIED WENT A STEP FURTHER
when he caught this sucker fish.

you really should click on these and see the similarities in their mouths.

THE MAN I MARRIED THEN DID THIS:

*WARNING*

*warning*

you

are

about

to

be grossed

out

big

time

*REALLY*

*grossed out*

READY?

yep.... this fish....

How ugly is this fish?!??!
I now know,
that I am the only woman for him!
God meant it that way!
And no one else will EVER want to kiss him.
No one.
The man I married is
ALL MINE!
*smile*

and somehow... someday.... I will kiss him again.
Hmmmm....
surely by our Anniversary in November it will be safe?!?
Right?!?!?

I know, I know....

.... I am spoiled!
Really.... the truth is I am blessed.
I got a 50mm lens for Mother's Day..... it arrived last night.
Today I took oodles of pics!
(Please hide your surprise.)
I am so thrilled I am "high"!
( For those of you who care: It is a Sigma 50mm 1.4. It is EVEN better than I imagined. And my expectations were high! Really, really high! I read about it on line..... people praise this lens like crazy. I debated and debated and debated and changed my mind a hundred times or more over which lens I wanted. Could I trust a Sigma? Will it be worth the extra $ for that buttery bokeh? That narrow narrow depth of field.
Oh ... it is.... is sooo is worth it!
To me!!
It is also close enough in size to fit my filters from my other lens too!
Yall know I OVER analyze everything!
Everything! But in this case it paid off!)

Here we go! (said in Mario voice)

Isn't that cute!
Um yes Daniel is hanging from a tree branch.
His idea.
This might be my fav pic yet with Cash.

Now for more examples of depth of field and bokeh with the Sigma.... and this is only my first day to play! AND these were taken in bright sunlight!

Now this one is just me testing out the 1.4 setting... it is too blurry on purpose.... just there as a great example of what this lens can do.
This one too is too blurry but I will crop and lighten the one above and you will see where I am trying to go!
Ta-da!
I love this!
How about cropped a little more!

I hope yall are enjoying this half as much as I am?
Or are yall sick of the lilacs and goofy daniel pics?
I would really like to know.
Cause I've got more!
Oh,
there's more!

Oh yeah! Yall wanted to know how to make them big. I will do that soon! Sorry, I get carried away with sharing more pics!
*smile*

The man I married.....

... is forever airing up bike tires.

... teaching little boys all the "stuff" guys do in the garage.
Don't ask me what they do.
I think it involved sharpening mower blades today.

.... but then he breaks out in "silly"

silly trickster!

"testing" out Jedd's bike once he aired up the tires.

...more testing.

with a little of this....

(here you see one issue I have found with the fixed (non-zoom) 50mm 1.8. I am often TOO close to get all the shot I want and since I was sitting on a bench in the corner. I just had to sacrific a little bit of his head. Just so I could get the "wheely" of course.

never fail... he gives a good "goofy" face!

... even better!

sorry, ladies, he's all mine.

such talent! such fun!
One of these boats is for sale! BTW!
Someone please come buy it and take it away!
Please!!!!???
