Huge fields of bright green rice is a welcome sight for this girl.
It means I am "home".
This is where I grew up, walking along the levy looking for frog eggs to scoop up out of the water in the rice field into a Miracle Whip jar to take home and wait for them to hatch.
Now it's where they grow up. My precious nephews and nieces!
They are amazing and they are fun!
I miss them already.

I honestly had no clue that rice came from a plant until I lived there as a teacher. I was amazed. It looked NOTHING like what I bought in the store. (I also learned to eat rice and gravy, rice with chili, etc...still do) Neat memories.
THAT IS NOT WHAT I THOUGHT RICE LOOKED LIKE! *yelling*
Wow...seriously, who knew?!? :)
See...I can't imagine NOT knowing what rice looks like!!!!
Um...helmet for bowling...just how physical do you all get?????
