My Valentine!

We met in January of 1994.

On a blind date.

In Kansas City.

He lived in Iowa.

5 1/2 hrs away.

I was in my Sr year in college in KC.

A long distance relationship began.

We saw each other every weekend (but one or two)
for the next 11 months.....
mostly ALL him driving down to K.C.

then we got married.

This photo is from our first Valentine's Day together.
We had met only a month before.

He even wore a pink oxford stripped shirt.
I got him the bear,
he made me the brownie Valentine heart.
And made me a candlelight dinner.
There was a single red rose on the table.

It wasn't until I took him home to Arkansas during spring break...
and I saw him in the kitchen having fun with "the church ladies"....

the ladies who knew me since diapers...
the ladies who clearly loved him instantly.....

that I knew he was the man I wanted to marry.

By July (1994) there was an engagement ring.
Still dating long distance.

This picture is a week or so after we got engaged.
Less than 5 1/2 months later.....
we were married.....
in November of 1994.
(my scanner is so bad it was better to just take a picture of this wedding picture!)
This last picture is from the honeymoon....
we stopped and went to World's of Fun
in Kansas City, MO!
Don't we look happy?!?!

Well, I can honestly say that we are
even happier
today
than we were the day we married,
15 years,
3months
and 2 days ago.

Has our relationship always been good?
Nope.

Has it been easy?
Nope.

Do we still have rough days?
Yep.

Do we like to gross out our 10 and 12 yr old boys by kissing in front of them?
Yep.

Today I:
Ran 4 miles on the treadmill and made my fastest time yet! What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.... right?
Was blown away by the beauty of the snow and frost on the trees today... it was cold but sunny!

Woot FOR SUNNY!!!

Today I:
Worked at the library and enjoyed my awesome job and great co-workers.
Loaded new apps to my i pod as I discover this is actually a fun activity all it's own.
Watched D-town photography videos while my sweet husband went to get groceries after supper (and I continued to download apps).
Read a cool verse on my i-pod app that has access to the whole Bible on it...

"Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of His, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.....weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning." Ps. 30 4-5

Today I:
Found a couple fun website one with "How to" videos for techy gadget addicts like me that are very visual learners and aren't even sure how to do stuff with their stuff...
http://cnettv.cnet.com/
and another more general "How to" video website:
http://www.tvlesson.com/

Even brought home the Windows 7 Inside Out book (three inches thick) home from work.... what a geek!

Now I sit at my computer with hot tea (Orange, Passion fruit &Jasmine one of Lipton's Green Teas)...mmmmm.... and the space heater on.
Next I am going to write my hubs a Valentine letter.

Come on spring..... come on!! I think I need to grown some of that wheat grass in a cup just so I can feel it!!! *smile*

Happy Valentine's Day y'all!!

I LOVE the picture "a week or so after [you] got engaged"! SO cute!

I remember a time shortly after I met "Daniel's girlfriend" (or fiance or whatever you were at that time) that I had brought a friend to a church function and we were trying to immitate your accident... we thought it was so cool! :)

I have to comment on the last picture -- you're not smiling! And I would not even recognize you there because you are not smiling! :) all pics are way too cute :) :)

My mom told me that I wrote "accident" on here - of course, what I meant was "accent." Hahaha! :) Whoops!
