Sausage Brunch Braid

Took this brunch braid to work today! Now I have to post the recipe for the girls at work! *smile*

Sausage Brunch Braid (2 small loaves)

1 lb pork sausage
4 slices bacon precooked and chopped
1 cup onion
1/2 cup celery
1/2 green pepper
2 garlic clove minced
2 pkg. cream cheese cubed
2 tbs chopped green onion tops
2 tbs dried parsley
2 tubes (8 oz.) crescent rolls or crescent sheets
1 egg lightly beaten

In large skillet cook sausage, bacon, onion, celery, green pepper, and garlic till meat is done.
Drain.
Add cream cheese, green onion, and parsley.
Cook over low heat until cheese is melted. Set aside.
Roll out dough to 12x10 rectangles.
Spoon in mixture over the two separate rectangles. Cut slits down the sides going outward then braid over top of loaf.
Brush each loaf with egg.
Bake at 350 degrees for 16-25 minutes, till brown.
